What the referral code gives you
Enter a referral code when creating your RSI account. The signup page advertises 50,000 UEC after buying a Game Package. This is in-game currency; it does not lower the checkout price.
Already created your account? RSI gives new accounts 24 hours to add a code through the account menu. A code cannot be changed once the account has been linked to a referrer. See the signup and recovery steps. RSI referral conditions
Live field check, and where the code goes
Most code sites just ask you to trust them. I opened the real RSI enlist link in a clean browser on 30 September 2026 and confirmed that STAR-JTV7-FXLR was pre-filled in the Referral Code field. RSI's current layout does not show the older green success message or referrer name before signup.

How the 50,000 UEC helps you start
The reward adds account credits for your start in Star Citizen. It can also contribute to your alpha starting balance under RSI's currency rules. You pay the same package price.

Two rules new players miss
The 24 hour rule
You can add a code at signup or within a 24 hour grace period after creating the account. Forgot it at signup? Sign in at robertsspaceindustries.com, open the account menu, find Referral Rewards, paste STAR-JTV7-FXLR and confirm. After 24 hours the option is gone, and once an account is linked to a referrer the code cannot be changed.
The $40 minimum
The standard referral reward is 50,000 account UEC for a new account registered with a valid code. Game access requires a Game Package outside public trials. The separate $40 USD fresh-money spending rule determines the referrer’s Recruitment Point, not a different signup bonus. Alpha aUEC crediting can be delayed when a code is added later.
Why one verified code, not a randomizer
Choose the player you want to support. A dated form observation shows what the form contained; it does not establish a credited balance or prove that other valid player codes are less reliable.

Entries describe what was checked. Form checks do not confirm purchases or account balances.
- The live RSI enlist link was checked in a clean browser and pre-filled STAR-JTV7-FXLR in the Referral Code (optional) field. The current form showed no separate success message or referrer name before signup. Game build at the time: Alpha 4.10.1 (live since 16 September 2026).
- RSI overhauled the referral program. New-player bonus went from 5,000 UEC up to 50,000 UEC and the recruiter ladder was restructured (top tier is now the Idris-M at 1,042 recruits). Any guide still quoting 5k UEC is stale.
Already played but missed the code?
You can still add one within 24 hours of account creation if no code is attached. Older accounts cannot have it added directly. Testing uses temporary aUEC, so credit availability depends on the current build.

You do not need to generate one. Any new account can use an existing player's code at signup. Use STAR-JTV7-FXLR, which is verified and maintained on this page, or open the auto-apply link and it fills the field for you. You only get your own code to share once you own an account.

Does it work during a Free Fly event?
RSI advertises the 50,000 UEC signup bonus after buying a Game Package. For the referrer to earn a Recruitment Point, the account must own a Game Package and reach $40 USD in eligible fresh-money spending across the pledge store. Store credit and gifted pledges do not count toward that spend.
Does the referral code give a free ship?
No. The new-account bonus is 50,000 UEC of in-game currency, not a ship. Free ships are on the referrer's side of the program, unlocked after recruiting other players. The full breakdown is here.
Why are you giving this code out?
When you use STAR-JTV7-FXLR I earn one Recruitment Point on RSI's referrer ladder. That is the entire incentive. You get the full 50,000 UEC either way and pay the same package price. Any valid code does the same on your end. The difference is whether the owner keeps it verified.
